Reflect on your life…

So I recently spent some time with a life coach trying to focus on ways to expand my potential to achieve my goals. One of the questions she asked me was where I was from and where I saw myself.

This helped me to really reflect on my life and see how far I had come. One of the main things it made me realize was how different my life is compared to where I saw it as a young girl.

I remember as an 8-year-old girl I dreamt of being married by the age of 18 and having kids and just looking after the house. But here I am living a completely different life to the one I had imagined and I am very happy with where I am.

This reflection helps because there are times where I feel lost and confused in terms of where I am going.  Am I where I would like to be? Am I on track to achieve my main goals? These questions can create a cloud of overthinking and anxiety. But reflecting can really help.

Reflect on where you are. Seeing how far you have come and what you have achieved. How paths and plans can change so easily. Anytime you feel confused about where you are and where you are going to be then just sit down and reflect.

This won’t just help you feel a bit more in control but help you see where you can go. Identify your strengths and see where the issues are. When I spoke to my coach, after a little reflection we quickly picked up some key points that were creating issues in my life and making me unhappy.

So take some time out every day and think about the day or the weeks that have gone by. You don’t need to meditate. But you can write or just think about it all and you will start seeing some patterns and ways you can work on them.
