It is so easy to get caught up in everyday life and forget how blessed we are with some of the things we take for granted. I had this realisation the other day when I was moaning about something and my mum said “Nabeeda, you should be thankful that at least you have that!” That made me realise I have so much to be thankful for so here goes:

  1. I am thankful for life. It is the simplest thing to be thankful for. Everyday, I wake up and I am healthy and happy and that in itself is a blessing that not everyone has.

2. I am thankful for the family, friends and all the special people I have in my life. Life is so hard but without these people, life would be so much more difficult.

3. I am thankful for the house and other basic things like food. I see so many homeless people, it breaks my heart to see the state they are in. But it also makes me realise we should be grateful for having access to the basic things.

4. I am thankful for the education I got, the opportunities I have been given without those I wouldn’t be where I am today!

Honestly, I have so many things to be thankful for that I could carry on forever. But now I want you think about things and people you are thankful. Everyday, try and think of those to remind you how blessed you are!
